GUWAHTI -

Guwahti the capital of Assam.
In my blog i will not informing you how to reach guwahti or where guwahti is located n all. I am guiding you as an ordinary traveller.
I stayed in guwahti for three nights and four days in the month of April 2017. Its really hot there as temperature is around 30 in day but in evenings it is ok to go out and explore the city.

First Day you can visit a famous temple name KAMAKHAYA TEMPLE. This temple is on the way to city if you are going towards city from outskirts of city. After visiting this temple you can go towards Brahamputra River . But its too hot in summer days so you can go to river side preferably in evening. There is a UMANAND TEMPLE

situated in the river on the Asia's Smallest live island known as PEACOCK ISLAND or UMANAND ISLAND. But you have to bargain for the boat that take you to the temple. They will ask for at least 1000 rs for hiring a personal boat but you can bargain for 700 at least otherwise they are taking 200 rs per person in a kind of public boat. So take a ride to the temple and you can easily spent a half n hr or more on the island but try to make this ride before sunset or around 4 pm even in summers and ask the boat driver to take for a round of the peacock island. Sometimes they act smart and will not take you for the round or ask for extra charge so make it clear while booking the boat.
After completing your ride you can have a look to the Garden situated on the shore from where you hire boats for the island. That garden is with hostory of SARAIGHAT BATTLE

. It will take hardly 10 min to visit this garden but you come to know about history of SARAIGHAT. So try to visi.
Now you can visit ALFRESCO

that is on the same river shore where these two tourist points are located. Alfresco is a ship that will take you to rides in the river for a hour. You can search for its rate and timmings online. But its worth the price they are charging for the rides. Plz note that they have only evenng rides at different timmings. The last ride they are offering is around 8 pm. This is the only ride including your dinner and of two hours and costing sround 1200 rs per person. Except it all the rides is of 1 hr and not including dinner and food and costing 350 rs per person. But this is must visit place in Guwahti.
So in one day you can easily cover these 4 tourist attractios easily.

Next Day you can visit the Zoo but its not worth going here because the condition of the zoo is not good at all. The main attraction is only the white tiger that you can see . Otherwise condition of the zoo is ver bad and its stinky at some places also. So if you want to visit then take that vehicle they are providing in the zoo for visiting at earliest.

MUSEUM

If you are a museum lover then must go for visit the museum in guwahti. It is situated in a building with three floors. Its almost take 3 hours at least if you want to visit it completely. So if want to know about culture ad history then must visit this museum and just situated opppsite to the museum you can visit WAR MEMORIAL.

SILIGURI - Shopping Destination

SILIGURI - The gateway of North - East India is located in West Bengal. Siliguri serve a base for exploring the north east of India.
Siliguri is a shopping destination  because of having an Airport ( In Bagdogra - Half an hour drive from siliguri), railway connectivity and Bus connectivity. As a connecting state to North east , Siliguri became a shopping destination for people. In Siliguri you can find all stores ( shoppers Stop, Pantaloons, Reliance Trends, West Side, Big Bazaar , etc.) . Except it in Siliguri you can explore the malls for food and entertainment.
There are two main malls in Siliguri - COSMOS MAll and CITY CENTER.
Cosmos mall is situated on Sevoke Road in Siliguri. Cosmos mall cater a variety of lifestyle and value stores ( clothes, shoes, cosmetics, electronics, home décor, daily needs), food court, gaming zone, wellness center, saloo and stores like- e zone, big bazaar, pantaloons, adidas, Body shop, W, Woodland and many more brands.
City Center is located at NH 31. City center is a complete place for a family. This place is a perfect blend of shopping, entertainment, gaming. In City Center Mall you can find Shopper stop, Fab India, Reliance Trends and many more brands of apparels. Here you can also find entertainment zone for gaming and movie ( INOX) . This place also provide place for perfect dinning and restaurants. KFC, MIO AMORE, Momos and Street chaat, coffee and tea shops and food court.
In siliguri there is one more mall i.e Orbit Mall..In orbit mall you can find multiplex and some small stores.
There are many local markets in Siliguri around Hill Cart Road like Hong kong market, Bidhan Market and  sethSri Lal Market, In these markets you can explore many local things like handicrafts, clothes , footwears, accessorise, etc. You can pick some Bengali kind of sarees and  white Bangles made of shell from these markets. Hong Kong market is famous for imported items from china, Thailand and Nepal.
All the markets and main shopping complex and cosmos mall is located on Sevoke Road and Hill Cart Road. There are City Bazaar and Reliance Trend Store is also located on the Sevokee Road. Many Jewellary Stores like Tanishq, PCJ and Relaince Jewels is also located on main Sevoke Road. Footwears outlet, Ethinic wear outlet is also located on Sevoke Road.
From Siliguri you can also pick Darjeeling Tea, there are many stores here offering varieties of tea and coffee . Chai Chun Store is one of the Famous store from where you can pick differetnt types of tea, coffee .
If you take home things made of Crystal then must visit some local market in Bagdogra ( Near Siliguri). There are many local shops in Bagdogra from where you can buy things made of crystals like cutlery, glasses and home décor items.
In short if you want to explore Siliguri then you can go around sevoke road and hill cart road

 

JODHPUR - SHOPPING

Jodhpur is a place for people who love to shop rajasthani handicrafts.
In jodhpur you can find varieties of handicrafts of wood, brass and stone. One of the cheap and mostly visited place is NATIONAL HANDLOOMS of jodhpur. There are four to five national handlooms in jodhpur at different places where you can find different type of rajasthani stuff, like fabric ( Bandej- basically its a type of printing done on fabrics) .( Bandej is one of the must buy from jodhpur) Here you can also find home décor items inspired from rajsthan touch, various types of cushions, bedsheet, table and bed runner of rajasthani touch.

Expect it if you are interested in local shopping , you can visit Ghanta Ghar market ( Clock tower) and nayi sadak and sardarpura market. At nayi sadak you can get various shop having antique of brass and décor items made of brass. Near ghanta ghar market there are local shops having daily utilities things and you can find Jodhpuri Juti here. ( Jodhpuri Jutis are one of the must buys from jodhpur)

In Sardarpura you can explore the local market for some different kind of black metal jewelry. Here you can also find some brands of clothes, shoes and bags.

Jodhpur - FORTS, LAKES, HANDICRAFTS , FOOD..............................

Jodhpur - Blue City of Rajasthan, Land of Royal families.
Jodhpur is one of the must visit place of Rajasthan. Direct connectivity by air from Delhi and Mumbai and frequent road connectivity from Jaipur.
It is also known as Sun City because of the sunny weather all around the year except Dec to Feb where weather is bit chilled and can enjoy chilled nights.
If like to visit historical places then can visit Umaid Bhawan, Mehrangah Fort, Jaswant Thada , Ghanta Ghar. These are the places where you can find the glimpses of the Princely State . Umaid Bhawan Palace, is one of the world's largest private residences. A part of the palace is managed by taj hotels.. A part of the palace also houses a museum.
In Jodhpur you can also find lakes like Kailana Lake and Balsamand Lake. Kailana lake is almost 8km outside of Jodhpur. Here you can anjoy beautiful scenario of Sunset and Sunrise and picnic time with family.

FOOD LOVER- If you are a food lover you can enjoy here  varieties of Rajasthani Food. Mirchi Vada and Pyaaz Kachori are the things you will not miss here to taste. There are many restaurants providing proper rajasthani food but you can try GYPSY Restaurant ( In Sardarpura) providing Delicious rajasthani thali with varieties of cuisines.

SHOPPING SPEER- For shopping freak people jodhpur is a very hot destination. You can get here handicrafts , Stone Arts, Brass Arts, Jodhpuri Juties. If you would like to do a reasonable good shopping then visit National Handlooms of Jodhpur, Here you can easily get different kinds of rajasthani stuff at reasonable price. For Brass Handicrafts you visit Nayi Sadak  near Ghanta ghar, there are many shops on the main road providing good handicrafts of brass as well as wood. For Furniture you can visit chopsani area of jodhpur. Jodhpur is famous for its antique furniture, you can get here furniture with different and royal look. For Bandej sarees and suits you can explore local market, national handloom and Raju's Fashion Mall in Jodhpur. For Jodhpuri Juties local market near ghanta ghar is a good place to explore.
