Guwahti the capital of Assam.
In my blog i will not informing you how to reach guwahti or where guwahti is located n all. I am guiding you as an ordinary traveller.
I stayed in guwahti for three nights and four days in the month of April 2017. Its really hot there as temperature is around 30 in day but in evenings it is ok to go out and explore the city.
First Day you can visit a famous temple name KAMAKHAYA TEMPLE. This temple is on the way to city if you are going towards city from outskirts of city. After visiting this temple you can go towards Brahamputra River . But its too hot in summer days so you can go to river side preferably in evening. There is a UMANAND TEMPLE
situated in the river on the Asia's Smallest live island known as PEACOCK ISLAND or UMANAND ISLAND. But you have to bargain for the boat that take you to the temple. They will ask for at least 1000 rs for hiring a personal boat but you can bargain for 700 at least otherwise they are taking 200 rs per person in a kind of public boat. So take a ride to the temple and you can easily spent a half n hr or more on the island but try to make this ride before sunset or around 4 pm even in summers and ask the boat driver to take for a round of the peacock island. Sometimes they act smart and will not take you for the round or ask for extra charge so make it clear while booking the boat.
After completing your ride you can have a look to the Garden situated on the shore from where you hire boats for the island. That garden is with hostory of SARAIGHAT BATTLE
. It will take hardly 10 min to visit this garden but you come to know about history of SARAIGHAT. So try to visi.
Now you can visit ALFRESCO
that is on the same river shore where these two tourist points are located. Alfresco is a ship that will take you to rides in the river for a hour. You can search for its rate and timmings online. But its worth the price they are charging for the rides. Plz note that they have only evenng rides at different timmings. The last ride they are offering is around 8 pm. This is the only ride including your dinner and of two hours and costing sround 1200 rs per person. Except it all the rides is of 1 hr and not including dinner and food and costing 350 rs per person. But this is must visit place in Guwahti.
So in one day you can easily cover these 4 tourist attractios easily.
Next Day you can visit the Zoo but its not worth going here because the condition of the zoo is not good at all. The main attraction is only the white tiger that you can see . Otherwise condition of the zoo is ver bad and its stinky at some places also. So if you want to visit then take that vehicle they are providing in the zoo for visiting at earliest.

MUSEUM
If you are a museum lover then must go for visit the museum in guwahti. It is situated in a building with three floors. Its almost take 3 hours at least if you want to visit it completely. So if want to know about culture ad history then must visit this museum and just situated opppsite to the museum you can visit WAR MEMORIAL.
